KEI KAIHOH ARCHITECTS
- Outline
- A two-story wooden snow house with a small gable roof, 18m x 20m in plan, for the purpose of storing terraced rice, located in a corner where facilities operated by the city stand side by side. the cedar boards are vertically clad on each of the four exterior walls, with the coarseness and density of the cedar board tension on each side taking ventilation and solar radiation into consideration. the corridor around the four sides is open to the outside air, and is arranged to enclose the snow storage room and cellar. the double-skin design prevents solar radiation from reaching the inner walls, thereby reducing the environmental load.
