This stadium was used for gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline (olympic games) and boccia (paralympic games) during the tokyo 2020 games (olympic games: july 23-august 8, 2021; paralympic games: august 24-september 5, 2021). the lower structure is steel-framed, and the roof structure is a low-rise, arched composite wood-tensioned beam structure made of large-section glued laminated japanese larch. the building is currently being renovated for use as an exhibition hall.
