CHIBA UNIVERSITY SUMIDA SATELLITE CAMPUS

Outline
The former Sumida Small and Medium Business Center, established in 1986, was converted into the Chiba University Sumida Satellite Campus. The roof was replaced in order to solve the height restriction which was inappropriate for the existing building. A large passageway space was created in the center of the first floor to externalize the existing interior space. An eaves space that facilitates the integrated use of indoor and outdoor spaces and a new fifth-floor "Skytree Terrace" that overlooks the entire town were added to express the building's appearance as a building that works in cooperation with the local community.
