KENGO KUMA AND ASSOCIATES, HASEKO CORPORATION

Outline: This is a project to renovate a part of the first and second floors of Building 11 on the Hongo Campus of the University of Tokyo. The design and construction costs were covered by Haseko Corporation, which donated the building to the University of Tokyo. A 130-seat hall, a lounge, and a café, which can also be used by outsiders, were installed, aiming to make the building a place suitable for an "open university.
