TOKYO METRO GINZA LINE SHIBUYA STATION
METRO DEVELOPMENT NAITO ARCHITECT & ASSOCIATES TOKYU ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS
- Outline
- The new station building of Shibuya Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, which was relocated as part of the Shibuya Station District Land Readjustment Project. The platform width was widened to 12m at maximum. Forty-five steel M-arches, each with a different shape, are lined up in a 2.5-meter span. The cross-sectional shape is wider toward the back of the photo and the ceiling is lower because of the traffic network with the surrounding area and the difference in elevation of the site. The floorboards, equipment wiring racks, benches, etc. are in temporary specifications and will be renewed in sequence.
