URO-CO

Outline
T_ADS, a research group at the University of Tokyo that studies design methods using digital technology, collaborated with Haseko Corporation to install this pavilion in the entrance lobby of its LIPS showroom. The pavilion consists of 65 parts cut out of plywood made of 15 overlapping 0.6 mm thick veneers. Based on computer simulations, the holes are laser cut into different shapes depending on the part to make the parts more flexible. The rolled parts are fixed to the floor by metal fittings.
