- The Hitachi City Hall building is being reconstructed. The building has become decrepit, and since the Great East Japan Earthquake, some functions have been moved to temporary buildings. Following the construction of the office building (Phase 1, completed in April 2017), a continuous vaulted roof with a plaza and a multipurpose hall building with a restaurant and other facilities will be completed in March 2019 (Phase 2).
