TOKYO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MIDORIGAOKA HOUSE

Outline
A student dormitory facing a residential area at the northwest end of the Ookayama campus of Tokyo Institute of Technology. The building is designed to have a gantry façade in order to avoid confronting the houses across the street, while ensuring sunlight and ventilation from the south. In anticipation of a future decrease in the number of students, the interior can be renovated into a research building.
