THE CHARNEL FOR DECEASED BY THE GREAT EAST EARTHQUAKE IN OTSUCHI

Outline
Otsuchi-cho, Kamihei-gun, Iwate Prefecture - A place for the burial and memorialization of victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011. It stands on a hill overlooking Otsuchi Bay. The gently curving walls of a series of solid cedar columns guide visitors and serve as a visual buffer between the building and the parking lot behind it.
