YOKOHAMA TRIENNALE 2017 EXHIBITION PLANNING AND DESIGN

Outline
The Yokohama Museum of Art, the venue for the Yokohama Triennale (8907, designed by Kenzo Tange and the Urban and Architectural Design Institute). The existing stone staircase in the Grand Gallery, a two-story atrium located in the center of the building, is overlaid with a wooden floor made of CLT to create a variety of locations and relationships. Against the existing staircase that runs through the center, new floors of various heights and diagonal staircases are placed to break or connect the axis line.
