Outline
This is the new building of the Institute for Earth and Life Research, established in 2012 under the World Premier International Research Center (WPI) program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). The building has two 9-meter-span columns with 2.5-meter beams on both sides, and the outer walls are independent of the columns.
