KYOTO RAILWAY MUSEUM

Outline
The Kyoto Railway Museum was established as a comprehensive railway museum by relocating and integrating the functions of the Transportation Science Museum in Osaka City (closed in 2014). The site consists of a part of Umekoji Park surrounded by the JR Kyoto Line, the JR Sagano Line, and the former Sanin Line, which are located about 20 minutes on foot west of Kyoto Station, and the Umekoji Operation Area. The site was planned to be integrated with Umekoji Park, which also houses the Kyoto Aquarium.
