NAOSHIMA HALL

Outline
This facility, located in the Honmura district of Naoshima, consists of a gymnasium, a hall that can be used for various purposes such as the performance of Naoshima Onna Bunraku, a traditional performing art of the island, a meeting place for local people, and a garden. The hall is a gabled roof with a hole in the roof to take advantage of the wind blowing from the south, which is peculiar to Naoshima. The two roofs, a gabled roof and a hipped roof, which are derived from the climate of Naoshima, blend into the village.
