KAWANOKAMI HYAPPYOU-KAN

Outline
The library café was planned as a place of exchange prior to the relocation of disaster prevention groups from the Okawa, Ogatsu, and Kitakami areas of Ishinomaki City to the Kawanoue area, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The library café was designed as a place for interaction between old and new residents by involving them in the construction process. The existing frame and shed of an agricultural warehouse from the Taisho era (1912-1926) are used, and the structure is reinforced with structural plywood.
