- The new campus of Ritsumeikan University was established on the former site of the Sapporo Beer Factory in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. Ritsumeikan University's new campus is located on the former site of the Sapporo Brewery in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. The campus is crossed by two axes running north-south and east-west, and along each axis there are school buildings and the Ritsumeikan Ibaraki Future Plaza (an urban development facility). The Ritsumeikan Ibaraki Future Plaza has a public function and is integrated with the adjacent urban park. The campus is open to the community and society. The commons, a shared space located inside and outside the building, provides a place for students to interact and learn from each other outside of class hours.
