SHIZEN-NO-KUNI DAY CARE CENTER(SMALL VILLAGE)
NAF ARCHITECT & DESIGN
- Outline
- Due to the aging of the old school building built 35 years ago, a new school building was constructed by cutting down mature forests on the southern slope of the site that had reached the age of 15-25 years. The seven volumes along the slope are connected by a continuous slope to the school yard. The volumes on the garden side are raised from the ground to create a pilotis. A child-rearing plaza is set up at the main entrance, where workshops for parents and children are held and school lunches are served. The space is open to parents and local residents.
