YUIMARL TAKASHIMADAIRA

Outline
The Urban Renaissance Agency and Community Net, a company that plans and operates facilities for the elderly, have renovated an existing house in one of the Takashimadaira housing complexes in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, to create "Yuima-ru Takashimadaira," a decentralized apartment complex for the elderly with services. Of the 121 units, 30 units have been renovated. In addition to renovating the units to barrier-free specifications, we created a semi-public space by adding an earthen floor space (engawa-doma) between the common corridor and the rooms that can be used by wheelchairs.
