YAMATE STREET HOUSE

Outline
This five-story residential building with shops stands on a 24m2 site facing Yamate-dori. The floors are piled up as high as possible in order to accommodate the functions of the building, which may change in the future, and the space changes gently with height in accordance with the urban environment such as light, sound, and scenery. On the lower floors, the floor height is raised and the area of the openings is made smaller, while on the upper floors, the floor height is lowered and the openings are made larger, allowing the line of sight to pass horizontally and connect with the city.
