- The museum is located in "Area Nakaichi", a redevelopment project in the center of Akita City. The museum was relocated from the existing museum in Chiaki Park, the site of Kubota Castle, and houses a large collection of works by Fujita Tsuguharu, mainly from the 1930s. It is a three-story reinforced concrete building.
