THE CONGO-JAPAN COMPLEX

The second to fourth phases of the construction of a primary school have been carried out since 2008 in the suburbs of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. In the second phase, the second classroom building (completed in 2010), in the third phase, the third classroom building (completed in 2011), and in the fourth phase, the school gate arch (completed in 2013) were constructed. Every year, students of Matsubara Laboratory of Keio University design and execute the construction with local residents. All seven classrooms are scheduled to be completed by 2016.
