- A hospital affiliated with Fukushima Medical University, which merged two prefectural hospitals, the former Aizu General Hospital and the former Kitakata Hospital. The hospital is not only for medical care. It also houses the education and research departments of the university. In the corridor surrounding the courtyard "Hikari-no-niwa" located in the center of the building, cafes and convenience stores are arranged to create a lively town-like space.
