THE KATSUSHIKA CAMPUS OF TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE
NIKKEN SEKKEI
- Outline
- This is the new campus of Tokyo University of Science, built on the site of the former Mitsubishi paper mill in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo. It was planned to solve the problem of the narrowing of the Kagurazaka campus. No fence was built along the boundary of the site to make it open to the community. The central 250m "Campus Mall" emphasizes the axial nature of the campus, and the orthogonal "Garden Path" connects the surrounding parks through the university grounds.
