THE SNAKE MUSEUM OF COMTEMPORARY ART (SMOCA)

"A 99-meter-long corridor museum designed by the contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang, located in a corner of the mountain where the Iwaki Manbonzakura Project is held. Designed by the contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang, it is a 99-meter-long corridor art museum. Mr. Cai donated half of the prize money from the 24th Praemium Imperiale to the construction of this work and the opening ceremony. The work took about three months to complete, and a total of about 400 staff and volunteers worked on it. The columns and floor are made of cedar harvested from the site.
