JOSHU TOMIOKA STATION

Outline
The project for the Joshin Electric Railway's Joshu-Tomioka Station, the gateway to the Tomioka Silk Mill, which is about to be registered as a World Heritage Site. In order to inherit the spirit of the "wooden brick masonry" of the Tomioka Silk Mill, a new structural form of "steel-frame brick masonry," in which brick masonry is attached to a steel structure, is used to create a large roof that is 11 meters deep and 90 meters long.
