TEMPORARY EMERGENCY HOUSING, MINAMISANRIKU TOWN

Outline
Emergency temporary housing (under the Disaster Relief Act) on private land on high ground. This is one of the temporary housing units selected by Miyagi Prefecture on April 19, 2011. The entire affected community has moved in to the new housing to maintain regional ties. The construction method is simplified by using locally produced wood and by making thick cedar panels for the exterior walls and baseboards. Local contractors are involved in the construction.
