KURASAKO NURSERY SCHOOL

Outline
This steel-framed nursery school was reconstructed in Kitahiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The exterior corridor on the garden side is a continuous space with a roof length of approximately 60m. The corridor is covered with a horizontal roof to sharply cut the landscape. By shifting the volume of the roof, a loophole is created for lighting and ventilation. The ceiling height of the playroom is 4,900mm, and that of the nursery is 3,000mm. At the entrance, an infant room covered with a wooden lattice and an office with profilit glass are placed on a 30m wide portal-shaped eave.
