SHIRETOKO-SHARI STATION

Outline
The station building is the gateway to Shiretoko, a World Heritage Site. The sightseeing center was extended and the existing station building was renovated. The wall surface is composed of laminated larch, which serves as the structural frame, finish, and thermal insulation. The randomly created gaps serve as openings.
