House in Karuizawa

Outline: A vacation home built on a site backed by woods to the south. Its rectangular volume measures 18.6m wide by 6.8m deep, with a hall and a stage—designed as an extension of the hall—positioned at the home's center. The design evolved from the relationship between seeing and being seen, incorporating a living-dining-kitchen area, a loft space overlooking it, and a veranda serving as both stage and audience seating.
