Outline: Renovation of a maisonette-style dwelling in an apartment complex. A 900mm-high hip wall was extended along the staircase to connect the divided upper and lower floors. The wall, which continues from the first floor with public spaces such as the kitchen, living room, and dining room, was extended in an elliptical shape on the second floor to create a semi-public space inside the wall.
