House with Gallery in Takatsujiinokuma-cho

Outline: A 100-year-old townhouse located near the corner of the city block was renovated into a gallery and residence. Concrete walls and floors were inserted in the center of the interior to reinforce the traditional wooden frame. Private living spaces such as bedrooms and bathrooms are located inside the concrete walls and in the back of the house, while public rooms that serve as galleries are located outside the concrete walls.
