A Small House in Karuizawa

Outline
The site is a two-bedroom, four-room villa on the southern slope of a mountain. Surrounded by tall hardwoods and conifers, the exterior walls are shingle-roofed with red cedar to blend in with the surrounding landscape as it ages. The masonry retaining walls and approach are made of local Asama stone.
