Outline: We acquired an adjoining lot to the original site and added a detached house on the northeast side as an extension of the main house, which was built in 2010. The garden was planned as an integral part of the house, utilizing the trees in the garden of the main house in the same position as they were in the previous house, and was made continuous with the bamboo grove adjacent to the northeast side of the site. Materials with texture and tactile qualities were used, such as small concrete slabs, sand plaster walls, and wood flooring with a finish of Meikuri.
