House in Tomiokamachi

- Housing for a couple returning to tomioka town, where evacuation orders were issued after the great east japan earthquake. the site is located on a 1,200m2 hill overlooking the mountains and the sea. two indoor volumes are inset into a large roof of approximately 380m2, which connects two gabled roofs, and a street terrace is set between the two volumes. the aim was to create a house that opens up the living line as a semi-outdoor space and allows the residents to enjoy the surrounding environment.
