- The designer's parents' house was extended and reconstructed in two separate phases. The existing Western-style parlor was dismantled to create the entrance and tea ceremony room, Takabe Genan. In order to make it comfortable to stay for a long time in summer and winter, a large kitchen and an attached storage room were integrated and renovated as a living-dining-kitchen, and a "Takabe winter room" was designed with improved thermal performance.
