House in Shantiniketan
Kengo Sato / In-Field Studio
- Outline
- This is a house in Shantiniketan, a town in eastern India. The design and construction of the RC + brick structure had already begun in the area, and the interior design was done in response to the request from an Indian poet who wanted to create a "Japanese house". The red wooden furniture in the left foreground was made in Japan and brought to the site. With this furniture as a starting point, the design and production of the internal structure began on site.
