- The house is built in downtown Tokyo, where old-fashioned communication continues. The balconies overhang the exterior from the windows and extend into the interior, drawing in communication with people outside and bringing about diverse relationships between the family members inside. Separate staircases leading up to each balcony create an alley-like space.
