Outline
A 36-year-old wooden apartment building with four single occupancy units was reconstructed using the itakura construction method as a residence for a married couple, a workshop for making hanten, and a shop. The earthquake resistant walls made of cedar boards that wrap the entire building also satisfy fire prevention requirements, making it possible to realize a wooden façade.
