House in Toyonaka
YO SHIMADA
- Outline
- The house consists of one basement floor and two above-ground floors, and the above-ground part is sliced into seven layers and stacked while shifting. The displaced portions function as balconies and eaves. By creating the stairs and handrails in such a way as to identify them with the furniture brought in, the abstraction of the space created by the architectural elements of walls, floors, and ceilings, and the activities of the people created by the furniture and fixtures are simultaneously established.
