Outline
West side appearance. This is a reinforced concrete house built in a village near the sea in Iriomote Island, a remote island in Okinawa. It is a one-story house with a gabled roof, and a low eave on the east and west sides of the building provides a terrace as a buffer space between the interior and exterior. In the event of a typhoon, windbreak nets are attached to the bolts at the top of the eaves to provide light and ventilation while preventing rainstorms.
