Fan beam house
Mutsue Hayakusa/Cell Space Architects
- Outline
- The house is built on an almost triangular site bordering the road on two sides. The plan is not based on geometry, but on the center of gravity, with the main pillar at the center of the site, and the kitchen and dining room on one third of the main road side, the living room on one third, and the garden on the remaining one third. The small beams of different lengths are placed at different pitches to equalize the load on the irregular plan.
