Maruyama house
Takahiko Sano/Atelier Sano
- Outline
- The building is built on a sloping site, with a 5,460mm square hall at its center and four buffer spaces with large openings. The openings on all four sides of the building provide panoramic views of the city of Sapporo on the east and south sides, while the north and west sides bring in the greenery of the nearby landscape. The floor, walls, and ceiling are all made of lauan veneer to allow light to effectively penetrate the interior.
