- The five areas in which the functions of the house are arranged are arranged in layers, and an opening is provided in the central layer to penetrate the layers. The opening houses a table and a bookshelf, which are perceived as the boundary of the areas from a distance, but as a space when approached. By creating an opening as a "physical connection" and a "visual connection", the depth of the space is brought about.
