House in Shimogamo
EDWARD SUZUKI Associates
- Outline
- The building stands in a quiet residential area. The "interfaces" such as circular frosted glass and vertical lattices made of smoked split bamboo allow us to feel the presence of the surroundings and adjust the openness. It also makes full use of a variety of traditional design vocabularies such as veranda, lattice screens, tsuboniwa, and eaves.
