Outline
The building is located on a hill on the east side of the Izu Peninsula. In order to enjoy the spectacular view of the sea and the seven Izu Islands, the existing building was renovated with the highest priority given to the opening framing the landscape. The white of washi paper is contrasted with the black of sumi ink, bringing out the natural materiality of the building. The exterior is wrapped with cedar boards.
