House in Okusawa
Genzaburo Yamanaka / Yamanaka Design Institute
- Outline
- The house is located on a corner lot facing a greenway in a quiet residential area. To house three independent families (parents and children), one barrier-free courthouse and one maisonette each on the 1st and 2nd floors and the 2nd and R floors are built in. The contrast between the white painted walls and the red cedar, and the clever combination of walls, eaves, and slits make the house a sense of unity, while at the same time ensuring privacy for each.
