House in Okayama

Outline
The exterior and the layout of the dwelling are based on traditional minka (traditional Japanese houses) in this region that use burnt cedar and black plaster. It is an ambitious work that integrates vernacular and contemporary sensibilities, such as the medium-coated earthen walls and the cedar wood veneer.
