From the spiral stairway leading to the observation deck, the view to the south is of the observation deck and the onomichi waterway. the observatory is located at the top of senkoji temple, and is accessed by a ropeway and a slope characteristic of onomichi. every summer, fireworks are displayed from the onomichi waterway in front of the observation deck.
