This is a renovation project of la samaritaine, a department store founded in 1870 located in the center of paris. the building was closed for safety reasons in 2005, but was renovated and opened in 2021. sanaa supervised the renovation of the pont neuf building and designed the rivoli building. the façade of the rivoli wing is made of corrugated glass, which incorporates the rhythm of the windows of the old building, which was demolished, and reflects the view of the street on the opposite side of rue de rivoli.
