Outline
The russian pavilion, which was designed by alexei shusev in 1914 and has undergone multiple renovations since then, was restored to a form close to that of the original. the exterior walls were repainted and closed openings were restored, restoring the building's relationship with its surroundings. the original plan was to exhibit the design of the pavilion at the 17th international architecture exhibition at the venice biennale, but because the exhibition was pushed back, the renovated space itself became the main exhibit. a series of exhibits in the russian pavilion received a special commendation.
