Built on the site of a dormitory for junior high school students (seiun dormitory, built in 1969) that was closed in 2005, it consists of units for families and couples and shared units for singles. the construction was done by reusing concrete debris from the demolition of the seiun dormitory. local carpenters constructed the units using cedar and cypress timbers produced in the town. plants from the ayukuro river basin were used for the hedges between the units and for other plantings to enhance the local landscape.
